About Emily
Hi! My name is Emily and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received my Master of Science degree with an emphasis in Community Counseling from John Brown University in 2014 and have nearly 20 years of combined experience in residential, outpatient, and school-based mental health treatment settings.

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Experiential Therapy, and Attachment-Based Therapy techniques to help clients understand how their past experiences shape their current behaviors and emotional responses. By providing a non-judgmental space to process and explore these connections together, I help guide my clients toward healthier coping strategies and more fulfilling relationships promoting personal growth and healing. My approach is compassionate, direct, and holistic- incorporating traditional therapy and outdoor experiences, animal assisted therapy (learn more about our registered therapy dog, Ellie, under the Our Team tab), self-reflection, and a healthy dose of humor.

I specialize in anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, women's issues, attachment wounds, values clarification, relationship issues, low self-esteem/self-worth, and issues related to divorce/custody. I enjoy working with adolescents, college students, adults, and families.

I’m especially passionate about helping individuals break free from unhealthy relationship patterns, heal attachment wounds, and build self-trust. I believe that self-awareness, boundaries, and values alignment are key to cultivating fulfilling relationships and a strong sense of self. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, betrayal trauma, or major life transitions, my goal is to help my clients feel empowered, grounded, and confident in their choices.

In my free time I’m usually moving, whether I’m lifting weights at the gym, outside exploring a trail (though I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a fair-weather adventurer), camping or glamping, trying out new restaurants and coffee shops, "running errands" at TJ Maxx, Target, and Hobby Lobby, enjoying live music, and spending quality time with my people.
I love traveling and discovering new places, and one of my favorite things to do is plan road-trips with my two sons as we check national parks off our bucket list. Life with them (plus our dogs) is always full of laughter.
I’m big on balance, so when I’m not on the go you’ll usually catch me lost in a good documentary or unapologetically hogging my hammock on a cool night like it's a five-star resort.
