About Emily

Hi, I’m Emily, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Community Counseling from John Brown University (2014). I bring nearly 20 years of combined experience across residential, outpatient, and school-based mental health settings.

My work is grounded in Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Experiential, and Attachment-Based approaches. I help clients understand how past experiences shape present patterns, build healthier coping strategies, and create more fulfilling relationships. My style is compassionate, direct, and holistic- integrating traditional therapy, outdoor experiences, animal-assisted therapy with my registered therapy dog Ellie, thoughtful self-reflection, and humor when it helps lighten heavy moments.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, women’s issues, attachment wounds, relationship concerns, values clarification, and self-esteem. I work with adolescents, college students, adults, and families, and I’m especially passionate about helping people heal attachment wounds, break unhealthy patterns, and build self-trust through boundaries and values alignment.

I offer both in-person and teletherapy sessions.

In my free time I’m usually on the move, whether I'm lifting weights, exploring trails, planning backpacking trips and national park adventures, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, “running errands” at TJ Maxx, Target, and Home Goods, enjoying live music, and spending quality time with my people. I love traveling and planning trips with my two adult/young adult sons. I also value balance so slowing down matters, too- resetting my mind by organizing my space, relaxing on the couch with my dogs, and getting lost in a good documentary, all of which help me stay grounded and present.
