About Lisa
Hello, my name is Lisa and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received my Master of Science degree from the University of Central Arkansas in 1995 with an emphasis in community-based counseling. I have nearly 30 years of combined experience in outpatient mental health, residential treatment, inpatient acute hospitalizations, and school-based mental health treatment.
I am certified in TF-CBT (trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy). I utilize CBT and DBT techniques along with some Adlerian, person centered and behavioral therapy techniques to help clients understand not only where they are currently but what direction they would want to move while focusing on individual goals. I want my clients to move toward a healthier coping strategy in a nonjudgemental therapeutic relationship. My approach is compassionate, and client centered with individualized techniques and goal setting.
I’m passionate about addressing trauma, working with eating disorders, PTSD, anxiety disorders/OCD, depressive disorders, conflict issues and self-worth concerns. I enjoy working with adolescents, students, and adults (women and men) to help promote a more holistic wellness.
I'm available for teletherapy sessions and offer weekend in-person sessions on a limited basis.
In my free time, I’m usually trying to schedule activities with my 3 grown kids as much as allowed (they are very good sports). I enjoy live music, restaurants, coffee and definitely ice cream shops. Shopping can also add to the serotonin on a day off. I enjoy planning vacations and all the seasonal gatherings with my favorite people which always keeps me motivated. I enjoy spending time outdoors camping and hiking as long as we don’t rough it too much or climb too high. Being home on the couch in an oversized sweatshirt while enjoying cup of tea is one of my favorite ways to end the day.
